Creating A Blog

  1. First you must decide what the content of the blog will be. Are you going to be selling a product ?, will you be an affiliate or have ads on your site? (more on that in a second). Maybe you will just be creating exposure for a business that you already have.
  2. Next you want to find out where you are going to create and host your blog. One of the best free sites is the one I am using now Blogger. Or another good one is Wordpress but make sure that the site whichever it may be will support what you will be doing with it. Keep in mind you can also create your blog on your own and host it yourself but I am writing this mostly for beginners who want to keep it as simple as possible.
  3. Once you sign up with the service you have chosen you will want to name your site. Try to keep it short and pick a name that will produce as much traffic for you as possible. If your blog will be about how to be successful, rich , or make money from home think what keywords people will be using try to get a name with the words rich, successful, make money or something relevant to the subject. Coming up with the right name and niche is very important.
  4. Now you need to actually start building the blog. With most of the blog building websites they make it easy for you by providing web widgets. These can be things like adding video, pictures, links, ads, hit counters, etc.. That is another reason that the free sites should not be overlooked, you dont need to know how to be a master web designer. Use these widgets or tools to help you get started and once you get going it gets easier and easier.
  5. The next thing to consider is how your blog will start making money. One way is by becoming an affiliate, which earns you money by bringing a customer to a site or when that customer buys something during that visit. There are also companies that offer a referral commision when somebody you told signs up for their service. I will leave it up to you to do your homework and decide which affiliates are best for you because everybody has different experiences and outcome with you may vary depending on your niche or product. The other way to earn some cash of your blog is by placing ads that make you money when people simply click them to visit the site to check out the product or service being offered. Again I will leave that up to you due to the same reason as the affiliates.
  6. After the blog is completed (usually the blog is a work in progress) you must promote it. This can be done by submitting it to search engines, joining a blog catalog, blog carnival, or posting it on a forum. You can also get your own dot com name and point it directly to your site. If the name you pick gets a lot of direct traffic you are going to have wider exposure and hopefully become more successful. There are many different ways to get a high ranking on the major search engines and that will have to be left to another post but continually updating and posting to your blog will keep your rankings from drying up.
  7. Keep updated on the newest trends to either make your blog better or build a better blog with the new knowledge that you now have. Finding a good niche and being one of the first to utilize it will usually profit the most. There is alot of information I did not even hit on but it was my intention from the start to just scratch the surface. I also know that a lot of people will disagree with what I have written but feel free to comment and make it better and more informative.
